STUDENT UNION
The Student Union is comprised of the entire student body. It is administered by students who are elected by fellow students to represent them. The aim of the Student Union is to enable students to express themselves and to promote a positive relationship between students and the administration.

Objectives include:

1. To protect students’ rights and interest
2. To establish a sound student-staff relationship
3. To promote community awareness and responsibility
4. To organize social, cultural, and educational activities
5.
To represent each student and assist in any way possible.
Students are encouraged to participate fully in the decisions pertaining to their affairs and in sharing ideas and information with their elected representatives.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING
The College is served by two Guidance Counselors and a Chaplain, who offer individual and group counseling services in academic and personal issues. It aims to promote the social, emotional, and general well being of students.

A Peer Counseling Programme trains students in offering support to their colleagues.

Career seminars are organized in conjunction with the Work Experience, Placement and Public Relations Department to assist in preparing students for the working world.


ACADEMIC AWARDS
Major awards will be conferred in November at the time of the graduation. Information may be obtained from the Students’ Affairs Office.

 

 

STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS OFFICE
Located on the ground floor of Block A, the Student's Affairs Office is the main customer services unit of the college. Its main functions are:

• Admissions and Registration
• Records
• General Information

The staff will assist students with information on programmes, admissions, financial aid, grades, letters, transcripts, and graduation etc.

TRANSCRIPTS
When requesting a transcript, students must complete the prescribed forms obtainable at the Students’ Affairs Office. Official transcripts will be forwarded at the students’ request to institutions to which they are seeking admission. The transcript requests are normally processed within fourteen (14) working days. There is a nominal charge for this service and an additional charge for express processing (3-5 days). Transcripts, which are sent to individuals are stamped “unofficial”.

UTECH/UWI franchise students must request transcripts from either of these institutions

LETTERS
Letters such as those requested for embassies, recommendation, status and other official letters must be requested from the Students’ Affairs Office. These are normally processed within (5) five days
