Registration Procedures

  1. Requirements for Registration

The registration process begins when a prospective student is interviewed and is recommended for acceptance into the institution or a returning student is given clearance for promotion or to repeat courses. During the process, the student will need to:

  • Collect registration package at the Students Affairs Office.

Among the items in the registration package are the following forms:
Registration, medical, emergency contact, CCCJ registration (for CCCJ programmes only) dress code requisition, and student code of conduct.

Students making full payment of fees will be given a payment voucher along with the package, whilst those requesting other payment arrangements will be required to fill out part-payment forms to be supplied by the Student Affairs Office.

  • Obtain Academic Clearance

Department Heads or their appointees must approve a student’s programme of study. A student may register for individual courses or a full programme of study. Student will be allowed to sit examinations in only the courses for which they have registered.

  • Obtain Financial Clearance

Paid vouchers are to be taken, along with the registration form and other relevant forms, to the Accounts Department where the student will be given either full or partial financial clearance.

  • Obtain Medical Clearance

Each student entering the College is required to do a medical prior to being registered. The completed medical form, along with the registration form, must be taken to the College Clinic, where the Nurse will give medical clearance.

All medical information is kept in strict confidence by the College Nurse.

At the end of the process, the student returns the completed registration form along with the other required documents to the Student Affairs Office. A student who satisfies all the given criteria will be issued a certificate of registration, signed by the Registrar. Incomplete registration forms will not be processed.

  1. A Fully Registered Student is one who satisfies the following criteria:
    • Academic Approval is given by the Department;
    • Financial obligations to the College are met and full financial clearance is given by the Accounts Department;
    • Medical clearance is given by the College Nurse;
    • All required forms in the registration package are completed and returned to the relevant Departments.
  1. A Partially Registered student is one who has satisfied the requirements for registration with the exception of full financial clearance. Such as a student would have made contractual arrangements with the College for payment of fees.
  2. Certificate of Registration

Students are required to register rat the beginning of each semester. A separate certificate of registration will be issued for each semester. A certificate of registration is the official document recognizing an applicant as a student of the College.

  1. Evening Programmes

Most listed programmes are offered in both day and evening classes. Evening classes are held Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 9 pm. Please check with the relevant Departments to determine the specific courses that are offered in the evenings.

  1. Late Registration

Any student registered after September 30 for semester one and after January 30 for semester two, will be required to pay a late registration fee. A list of all relevant penalties for transactions after deadline dates will be issued by the Student Affairs Office.

  1. Penalties for Non-Registration

A student is requires to be registered while attending the College. Any unregistered student who attends classes or participates in College activities does so in contravention of the rules and regulations of the College. The College reserves the right to take the necessary action to prevent such a student from:

  • Entering the compound or attending classes,
  • participating in any student organization or College activity,
  • sitting examinations.
  1. Cancellation of Courses

The College reserves the right to cancel any programme/course that is not financially viable. This will be done within one month of the start date for the programme/ course.

  1. Tuition

Tuition and other ancillary fees are normally calculated for semesters one and two combined and are due at the beginning of semester one unless Management stipulates otherwise.

There is usually a separate charge for summer programmes.

  1. Identification Card

Photographs for identification purposes are usually taken during the period September to November each year. Students are required to take their photographs at the times assigned. Certificate of registration are to be presented when taking photographs.

Students will be informed of the time and the venue for the taking of photographs. Students will also be informed of the time that the Student Affairs Office will issue the Identification cards.

The registration process is complete when identification cards are issued. These cards are required chiefly for entering the College compound, attending classes, borrowing library books, accessing records and transacting any other business with the College.

  1. Dress Code

All students in the College must adhere to the College dress code. Information on the dress code is available in the registration package or may be obtained from Student Affairs. The College reserves the right to take the necessary action, including denial of entry to its campuses, to ensure compliance with this regulation.
